Devotion to Divine Mercy was brought to the fore by the revelations of Christ to Saint Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938) . Jesus then emphasized to her the importance of his Mercy for humanity. Through this devotion, passing through prayer or a specific rosary, the faithful can solicit the intercession and merciful grace of Jesus Christ. John Paul II also accorded particular importance to Divine Mercy.
